My Story

Picture this: a rollercoaster life, filled with highs, lows, and everything in between. That's my journey—a mix of personal ups and downs, shaping me into the wellness enthusiast I am today. So, what fuels my passion? Let me spill the tea...

In the midst of life's twists and turns, I found myself grappling with mental health challenges, dancing with the complexities of bipolar disorder. The struggle was real—anxiety, panic attacks, stress, and the chaos of racing thoughts. But then, around three years ago, I stumbled upon a transformative power: Meditation.

This journey wasn't a quick fix; it was a profound evolution. Meditation became my refuge, a guiding friend helping me navigate the stormy seas of discomfort and uncertainty. It wasn't just about finding calm; it was about understanding and accepting the aspects of life beyond my control. It led me to a place of comfort in my own skin, where mental health, thoughts, emotions, and feelings were not adversaries but companions in the adventure of life.

 

Meditation unfolded mental benefits, taming the intensity of anxiety and panic attacks. It extended its calming influence to the physical realm, teaching me to respect my body's limits and energy levels. Socially, it made me more supportive, improving communication and understanding with family and friends. Personally, it encouraged a present-focused life, cultivating a profound sense of purpose.

QUALIFICATION

1999-2004

BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Science

During my studies, I pursued a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Sport and Exercise Science. This comprehensive study equipped me with a strong foundation in anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and exercise prescription. Throughout my academic journey, I gained valuable practical experience through laboratory work, field studies, and research projects. One of the highlights of my education was conducting a thesis project on the effects of high-intensity interval training on cardiovascular health, which further deepened my understanding of exercise physiology and its practical applications. Additionally, I had the opportunity to collaborate with faculty members on various research initiatives and present my findings at academic conferences. Overall, my degree provided me with the knowledge, skills, and expertise necessary to excel in the field of health and wellness coaching.

ACCREDITATION

2023-2024

Meditation teacher external accreditation with the British School of Meditation 

Through rigorous training provided by The British School of Meditation, I have attained accreditation in meditation instruction, passing with distinction and achieving one of the highest marks. This comprehensive program involved face-to-face training sessions and rigorous written assignments, ensuring a deep understanding of meditation techniques and principles. The course I completed has been externally accredited by Ascentis, a nationally recognized body regulated by the government agency OFQUAL. This accreditation guarantees that the training program has been meticulously scrutinized and validated, providing assurance of its high quality. As a result, I hold both a diploma from The British School of Meditation and a certificate from Ascentis, demonstrating my commitment to excellence in meditation instruction.
